We Turn Tables – BBE Record Store Takeover Day

A few weeks ago, something very special happened at the BBE record shop.
This wasn’t an in-store session: it was a We Turn Tables takeover. The day marked
the first time the Union Audio Orbit 6 had been used at the venue, installed
by Gillman Audio specifically for the occasion.
The DJs had flown in from Limerick especially for the day, bringing the underground
We Turn Tables energy across the water to London.
The difference was clear right from the off. The Orbit 6 delivered warmth, depth and
analogue clarity. Basslines had more substance, vocals had more texture and
presence. The rotary format encouraged longer blends and intentional audio
storytelling — a perfect match for a vinyl-only celebration.
The lineup, in order of performance, was:
A.O.D
Vic Bradshaw
Southi
Chris Hewitt
Ross Purcell
Each DJ brought their own identity to the booth. Deep soul, groove-led house, rare
discoveries and timeless tunes were played and mixed perfectly through the Orbit
6’s fully analogue signal path.
The music was a soundtrack to a day when an iconic record shop evolved from a
retail space into cultural hub. Regulars arrived early, before new visitors started
following the sound in from the street.
Photographer Dante Dubskate captured the ambiance of energy, focus and connection perfectly; from hands on vinyl to heads nodding in sync.
The Union Audio Orbit 6 defined the day. With installation by Gillman Audio, it
performed flawlessly, setting a new standard for how the BBE space can sound.
Couldn’t be there on the day or want to relive the experience?
